(KNSI) – A Stearns County Sheriff’s canine officer is fully outfitted and ready for patrol.

Loki is sporting a brand new ballistic vest thanks to an anonymous donor and Brady’s K9 Fund. The weave is specially designed to allow Loki to wear it for an entire shift if necessary while still providing significant protection against gunfire.

Each vest costs over $1,500. Brady’s K9 Fund has worked with the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office before. It helped outfit K9 officer Rex back in early 2021. The organization was started in 2018 by a ten-year-old boy.

Brady Snakovsky thought all K9 officers should have a vest. He is the CEO and founder of the fund. His mom, Leah, is the chief operating officer. The nonprofit has donated 328 vests, or a little over one per week since it was started.
