FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — As Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour" is set to take over Gillette Stadium, fans and security are making preparations for the big weekend.

Amidst thousands of fans waiting in line for exclusive Taylor Swift merchandise off the tour's well-known truck, Gillette Stadium officials, local and state police said they expect 200,000 fans this weekend.

"We ask the ticket holders to come early down here and relax as opposed to being in their cars and frustrated," said one Gillette Stadium representative. "We are at our maximum capacity for the MBTA."

State police urge anyone commuting to the stadium to use Route 95 via Route 1, or 495.

Local police will set up checkpoints to avoid traffic for town residents and local neighborhoods.

Gillette Stadium continued to remind Swifties that if their bag exceeds 4.5 x 6.5 inches, they will need a clear bag to enter the stadium.

They also expect up to a 20-minute wait for the bathroom line.

Roughly 8,000 fans gathered in line for merchandise Thursday as early as 2:30 am.

"I got here around 5:20 in the morning," said one fan. "I’ve been looking forward to it for months, so I think it's a lot but it will be really fun."

Another added, "This is just a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I wanted to try it out and do something different and have some fun."

The first concert is set to begin at 6:30 pm Friday.
