Police said the man, who told officers he "ate meth," grabbed a pregnant health care worker and then tried to take a stun gun and firearm from two officers.

Norfolk police arrested a man for allegedly assaulting a health care worker and officers.

Police first contacted Robert Baker Jr., 46, around 2:00 a.m. Monday.

Officers said Baker appeared fidgety and was walking rapidly.

According to a police report, Baker told officers he had eaten methamphetamine and was trying to go to the hospital.

Police called for an ambulance, and an officer rode with Baker to the hospital "due to Baker's erratic behavior."

Police said at the hospital, Baker grabbed a pregnant health care worker, pulled on her name badge and ripped it off.

As police were escorting Baker out of the building, officers said he sprinted toward nurses. Police restrained him, and that's when they said he tried to take a stun gun from one officer and another officer's firearm.

Police arrested Baker on several charges, including third-degree assault of a health care worker and third-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
