Police shot a boy with a stun gun after receiving reports about multiple male students flashing guns outside a high school dance Saturday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
A mother called the police while on the way to her daughter's school to report that her daughter had told her of the incident, according to police.
Police said they detained two boys and determined they did not have any weapons.
School staff alerted the officers that another boy was making similar claims inside the dance. When officers tried to stop him, he became combative and resistant, according to police.
One officer was injured during the struggle but did not need to go to a hospital.
